Last
spring I had an art show with two other women. It was called "Timeless
Goddess" and obviously about women. The show was fun, a celebration
of spring and "femaleness". I painted this because I've
always loved Pandora's story. She was disobedient, opened the box
after being told not to and let loose all the worldly ills. She
regrets it, but it didn't stop her. I wanted to show her in that
place, not a willful little girl anymore, but a woman who has to
live with what she's done. To me she's about the loss of innocence
and the growth that comes from it.
